How to Back Up Courses from uLearn2
uLearn2 (the old uLearn site) will be decommissioned soon (check your email for specific dates). Follow these steps to back up your old courses from uLearn2.
Here is short video going over the process: How to Back Up Courses from uLearn2 (login required)
Log into uLearn2 - https://ulearn2.unionky.edu/. Please note that it can sometimes take a minute to login. You may have to log in a few times if you receive an “LDAP” error.
Navigate to the course you wish to back up in your My Courses block. Please note that you only have to do this for courses you haven’t already restored to the new uLearn site. This is just for courses that you have not taught yet.
Once you are on the course page, scroll down and click the Backup link on the left side of the screen under the Administration block.
You can leave the settings on their defaults and click Next until finally clicking Perform Backup. You will see a progress bar as the course is backed up. Please note that this could take a few minutes depending on the size of the course.
On the next page scroll down to the User Private Backup area.
Locate the top file and click the download link. You can look at the file name to verify it was the course you just backed up.
The course backup file will be downloaded to your computer.
Once it is finished, go to the Downloads folder on your computer and locate the file.
Save the file to a folder in your OneDrive so you can access it in the future. We recommend keeping a OneDrive backup copy of all your uLearn courses.
Finally, you can restore this course if their is already a shell on the new uLearn site. Here are instructions: How to Restore Courses to the New uLearn (login required)
