Patridge Conference Room AV Operation Guide
The Patridge Conference Room in the Student Center has an audiovisual system that operates similarly to other rooms on campus, but has some key differences.
Â
SYSTEM OPERATION / OVERVIEW:
The power / control button for the TV is under the bottom center of the TV bezel (a couple of inches back, under the TCL logo).
Power switches for all audio (TV, microphones, etc) are located in the beige rack to the left of the TV. These switches are labeled.
Volume controls for the individual mic channels and the TV are in the same rack and are labeled.
DO NOT adjust the dials on the amplifier in the rear of the rack. ONLY use the power switch there.
Wireless Screensharing is the preferred method of connecting to the room audiovisual system (HDMI is also available if necessary).
Â
CONNECTING A DEVICE USING WIRELESS SCREENSHARING:
Note: Before attempting to screenshare with most devices, you need to be connected to Union’s wireless network (union-guest): Connecting to the Guest Wi-Fi
Windows: Press ⊞ + K on your windows device. Wait for ‘Patridge Conf Roku’ to appear, then select it, and it will mirror your device’s screen and audio to the room system.
MacOS: Click the Airplay icon (  ) in the top right of the menubar, then click ‘Patridge Conf Roku’ in the dropdown menu once it appears.
iOS (iPhone, iPad): In the app you wish to share content from, tap the AirPlay icon and select ‘Patridge Conf Roku’ from the menu.
Android: Swipe down from the top of the screen to bring up the quick settings panel, then select ‘Screen Cast,’ then select ‘Patridge Conf Roku’. Note that Android devices  can differ in their operation, and these instructions are for recent devices. The exact steps and wording may vary.
 Â
CONNECTING A DEVICE USING HDMI ACCESS PORT:
There is port labeled ‘HDMI IN’ available on the left side panel of the beige rack to the left of the TV. You can use this to connect directly to the room AV system if you are unable to connect wirelessly or your device requires a physical connection. The input on the TV will automatically switch to your device when you’ve connected it – there is no need to change input settings on the TV.
DO NOT disconnect or plug cables into the TV itself.
Â
SHUTTING DOWN / POWERING OFF SYSTEM:
Turn off the room audio using the same switches you used to turn them on.Â
Turn off the TV by pressing and holding the power / control button until a menu shows up on the screen, then release the button. Repeatedly press the button until ‘Standby’ is selected, then release the button.
