Canvas: How to Restore Course Content

Follow these steps to restore course content from a previous course in Canvas.

1. In Canvas, open the course you wish to restore content into.

2. Click Import Existing Content on the right side of the screen (see screenshot below).

3. In the Content Type dropdown, select “Copy a Canvas Course”.

4. Search for and select the course you are copying from. If you do not see the course, please contact support@unionky.edu.

5. Choose to copy “All Content” or “Specific Content”.

6. Check the “Adjust Dates” option if you would like Canvas to automatically adjust assignment and quiz due dates to align with the new semester.

7. Click Add to Import Queue.
