  1. Login to uLearn and navigate to the course shell you want to back up.
  2. Click the Edit Settings more icon and choose Course reuse:

  3. Change the option from Import to Backup.

  4. Leave the default settings as they are and click the Jump to Final Step button at the bottom of the page. Please note that this will back up course content but not student data.
  5. Click the Continue button.
  6. Locate the backup file under the Course Backup Area header. You can verify the correct file by noting the file name and date. Click Download to save the file to your computer. It will most likely be saved in the Downloads folder of your computer.
  7. At this point, it is recommended that you save a copy of the backup file in to your OneDrive. In fact, it is recommended to save a backup of all your courses.


Restore Course

  1. Navigate Login to uLearn and navigate to the course shell you want to restore the backup intoback up.
  2. Click the Edit Settings more icon and choose Course reuse:

  3. Change the option from Import to Restore.

  6. Either Select the correct course from the list shown, or on your computer, go to the Downloads folder (or wherever you saved the course backup file) . Drag and drag the backup file to the Import a Backup File area.

  7. Once the file has uploaded, click the Restore button.
  8. On the next page, verify the settings, and scroll to the bottom and click the Continue button.
  9. On the next page, there are 3 options. If you want to create a new course choose restore as a new course.  if you want to restore into the same course choose "Merge the backup course into this course" or "Delete the contents of this course and then restore" option based on your needs under the "Restore into this course" header. Then . If you want to restore into another course then select the correct option in that menu. Once the correct selection is made, click the Continue button.Image Removed  Most situations restore into this course and merge the backup course into this course option will suffice.

  10. The next several pages contain the setting information for the backup. You can leave these as they are and keep or make any necessary changes.  Keep click clicking the Next button at the bottom of the pages until you get to the last page.
  11. Finally, you will reach On the last page where you will click the Perform Restore button. Please note that depending on the size of the course, this may take a momentfew minutes.
  12. At this point, your Your backup file should be restored. Please review the continue course and make any necessary adjustments such as assignment due datesneeded.
