Welcome to the Union College Technology help site! This is our Technology Support Center (TSC). It is a public site which can be searched by the box at the top right of your browser. There are many articles that may be helpful as you navigate and use our different systems.

For the best experience when activating an account, use a computer and have your mobile device available.

Activating Your Account

Please Note that Union College uses a Multi-Factor Authentication method (MFA) for additional security.  
The Microsoft Authenticator application This app is required to activate and maintain your account for as long as you have a Union College account.
Please do not delete the Microsoft Authenticator App.

Download and install the Microsoft Authenticator App from the app store on your mobile device. The app is published by Microsoft Corporation.

You will not need to open the Microsoft Authenticator app at this time, but it will be needed later in this process.

When prompted, you MUST allow notifications for this app to be able to approve device connections to college resources. You should also allow the app to access the camera

For the activation process, you will need the email address and password sent to you in the Welcome Email.

To Begin the Account Activation Process Please navigate to https://Aka.ms/mfasetup

Enter the Union College email address from the Welcome Email.

On the next page, enter the password from the Welcome Email.

Choose Sign In.
Once you enter the correct email and password combination, you will be prompted for more information.

Choose Next to continue the setup process. The next few steps guide you through setting up the Microsoft Authenticator app for use with your account.

NOTE: If you did not download the Microsoft Authenticator App onto your mobile device, please do so now by going to the app store and searching for Microsoft Authenticator.

On the next page, enter your old password followed by a new password in the appropriate box.  Confirm the new password and choose Submit.
