In the interest of security best practices, Union College has the following requirements regarding the creation of secure passwords:

Passwords must:

  • Be at least 12 characters in length

  • Must contain at least one number (0-9)

  • Must contain at least one uppercase letter (A-Z)

  • Must contain at least one lowercase letter (a-z)

  • Must contain at least one special character (!, #, $, etc.)

  • Must not contain user’s name or other common phrases

Password requirements will be enforced by Microsoft policy.

Additionally, Multi-factor authentication will be enabled for Office 365 for all user accounts.
